Poetic brutality and hedonistic logic. A psycho-surrealistic plane of total emotion and calculated analysis. Sarah Lüdemann perceives all her works as performed sculptures or transmedial staging, which are manifested in video works, drawings, performance, objects and text and always begin at an autobiographical, an emotionally ambivalent place. Her attraction lies with the shabbiness and historical value of found materials just as much as with the slickness and virginity of bought and specifically designed materials; all her works are sensual, visceral and seductive.

Lüdemann is interested in three aspects: the relationship between the works/the space, the poetics and fabricated narratives; the abject and the grotesque; and the emotive responses of the viewer.

„My current interest is to refine the enmeshment of exhibitions as scenes and performatic narrative as museum guide.“

Within her artistic research Lüdemann studies human manifestations in all their functioning and non-funtioning systems, especially with regards to neuroplasticity, religion and rites, pornografie, psychologie, metaphysics, linguistics and mythology.
